Symptoms to Watch

Salmonella Symptoms

Diarrhea

Watery or bloody diarrhea, often with fever

Fever

Temperature over 102°F in many cases

Stomach Cramps

Abdominal pain that can start 6 hours to 6 days after exposure

Vomiting

Nausea and vomiting, especially in children and older adults

Get medical care now if you have a high fever, bloody diarrhea, signs of dehydration, or diarrhea lasting more than three days. Salmonella can spread beyond the gut and is most dangerous for infants, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.
